Public Works Director
Jordan Yutzy rejoined the City of Jacksonville as the Public Works Director in February 2017. Jordan has 10 years of experience in local and state government. He began his career with the State of Texas and then moved on to local government joining the City of Arlington Texas. While he was with Arlington he worked as a Code Enforcement Officer. Jordan moved to East Texas area in 2007 to finish his Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler. After completing his Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering he worked for the City of Jacksonville as a GIS Coordinator. Most recently Jordan worked as an Associate Traffic Engineer for the City of Tyler, TX. Jordan is a graduate of the City of Tyler Leadership Academy, a member of the Texas Institute of Transportation Engineers and a junior member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Jordan was recently married to Nicholina and together they enjoy the challenges of raising a preteen daughter. Jordan is excited about returning to the great City of Jacksonville and looks forward to continuing to make it a great place to work and live.
The Public Works Director works under the general administrative direction of the City Manager and is responsible for the management, supervisory, technical, and clerical staff of the Public Works Department. The department consists of water, waste water, streets, and sanitation. Special projects are performed as needed and approved by the City Manager.
